From the moment I walked into this classroom I had a feeling I would take some great pictures during the trimester. But, before I could take great pictures, I had to take some bad ones. I started off not knowing too much how to used the cameras we were given other than the Auto mode which did everything for me. As the weeks grew on I got better and better, although I had some difficulties getting creative in every different photo assignment. WORST PHOTO: BEST PHOTO: Then came the photoshop assignments. These were very difficult to maneuver at first because I'd only ever heard of photoshop and never had seen it in action, let alone control it myself. Now that I've done multiple tasks in photoshop, I feel more confident going into it. I may even used the skills I learned in the future, or just to show off. Overall, I think that I learned a lot during the trimester and that I grew as a photographer and editor. I strongly believe that I will use the skills I've learned to take photos in the future on trips. I enjoyed this class, the times I had with my friends, and the photos I've taken and edited. I want to thank you for viewing my blog and taking the time to see my photo/photoshop assignments! I hope you enjoyed them and that it inspired you take your own!

My last blog post has come. Today in class we went outside and Mr. Bush rode around on his bike while we tried to take photos of him in focus and the background in motion. I had some struggles with blurriness all over as well as a high exposer to get the look I wanted. I had a fun time doing this assignment because it challenged me and from it I learned how to do a motion blur effect!
For this assignment we were told to go around the school and take pictures of a person in different positions. I took pictures of a good friend named Sydney (Squidney) Gresser playing with a basketball in the gym because she's a baller (she plays basketball). There's also another one where I had her do poses in front of the school. Then I was told to do an effect where I made Sydney show up multiple times in one picture. I learned how to make a layer mask through this assignment.
This week was a struggle for me. I took pictures in the open topic but realized that they also fell into the still life category soon after. My pictures were of flowers (from a beautiful bouquet my sister bought) on a piano as well as on some violin learning book. These photos were not my best, I'm willing to say this and take it because I know that I've done better, but, time got the best of me. I learned from this final photo assignment that taking a good photo requires time, patience, creativity, and focus. BEST PHOTO Aperture: 4.0 ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/13 For this assignment we were told that the sky was the limit and we could use tutorials to try to do any type of photoshop project. My first photoshop tutorial I put a photo inside of text and for my second I attempted to turn a photo into plain black and white coloring book effect. This was somewhat challenging because some of the effects that I used I had never even heard of before. I learned how to create a clipping mask. This assignment we were required to take pictures around the school and then create a scene using photos online and inserting them into our photos through photoshop. It was a fun and easy task (so easy that I made a couple). I learned how to use the select tool as well as the free transform tool.
This week's photo assignment I chose still life. This was quite a challenge because my parents took our camera on a weekend vacation (without telling me), so I had to wait until they get back late Sunday night to take my pictures. I mostly took pictures of sea shells at our house and my lighting was a strong lamp. I learned that good lighting is key when you want a good picture. BEST PHOTO Aperture: 4.5 ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/60 Welcome back! This photoshop assignment was all about panoramas. The task was to take three pictures of a subject while moving your camera 1/3-1/4 of the total picture space for 5 different subjects and then turn them into panoramas on Adobe Photoshop. If I'm being honest, this was a very easy project thanks to the thorough instructions we were given. I feel like if I was told to do this again, I could. I learned how to blend pictures together during this assignment and to put a text box in with my name in it. In this photo assignment we had to change one photo to look like another. I had difficulty with this because there were lots of complicated steps, but, fortunately I was able to complete the assignment with a good looking retouch. I learned through this how to use the select tool and how to use the clone tool.
For this assignment we explored both window lighting and portrait lighting. I used two different people for each type of photo. On the left is the portrait photo and on the right is the window photo. I had many helpers during this photo and they ended up very well! I learned that a lot more than I thought goes into taking simple photos than I anticipated.
