This weekend I chose black and white photos. While taking these, I decided to pin up a bed sheet in front of a window to take away from the distractions outside. Then, I got together a bunch of glassware and some other items to take pictures of. It was a challenge because my ISO would not change from 100 (the settings were not letting me) and I had to work with what I had. From this assignment I learned that creating good lighting does not come magically but it must be helped. BEST PHOTO Aperture: f/2.8 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/30

This week's photo assignment I chose nature/landscape. During the weekend I had a soccer tournament in Monroe, Michigan and was lucky to have multiple opportunities to take photos. I went to a park with my mom and then went on a nature trail that we found. Also, there were trees changing color everywhere I looked. I have to thank my mom though because she spotted some really good photo opportunities and would let me know. I had tons of fun during this shoot, lots of colors and great weather. I learned that you have to have a photographer's eye to get good photos that no one else would spot. BEST PHOTO Aperture: f/3.6 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/320 Hello again! This week's photo assignment I decided to choose food. Who doesn't love food? I had fun doing this assignment because it gave me a couple opportunities to make some food (I got to make a sandwich as well as chocolate chip cookies). Through this shoot I learned that getting good lighting on food is not as easy as I thought it would be. For example, the cookies went on quite a journey as well as the limes and apples because I had to move them around the house and even outside for good lighting. Best Photo Aperture: 3.5 Shutter Speed: 1/13 sec ISO: 100 Editing: Highlights and Lowlights Welcome! The assignment that I chose to focus on this week was macro. This particular type of photo features up close looks on different objects. I went outside to take pictures and had a little help from my brother when it came to controlling a centipede type insect so that I wouldn't crawl away. I did struggle with my camera not focusing but I still managed to get some good shots! From this assignment I learned that if your exposure triangle is off, that every aspect of your picture will ultimately suffer. For example, i was out on a sunny day and had my ISO at 800 and then realized that if I don't change it then every picture I take your be bright white. BEST PHOTO Aperture: 1/250 Shutter Speed: 6.3 ISO: 100 This in-class assignment was on photoshop. Although I've never used photoshop in depth, this was easy to manage thanks to the detailed directions. I took a picture of myself (ironically on tropical day during spirit week) and then changed the threshold and color of the picture creating a pop art effect. I think that now I know how to do these steps that they will come in handy in the near future of my photoshop uses. What I learned from this assignment was how much goes into making a simple pop art photo and how to go through the steps of making one. ORIGINAL PHOTO: POP ART #1: PHOTO ART #2:
Welcome back! It's my first ever photo assignment and the focus I chose was animals. This photoshoot couldn't have been completed without the help from my three dogs: Martha, Gene, and Fred, and my cat: Sammy. Although they held this project together, they also made it very hard thanks to their constant movement. Despite that issue, I managed to get some good pictures of them! From this assignment I learned that patience is key and the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed plays a crucial role in the outcome of a picture. BEST PHOTO Aperture: 1/1000 Shutter Speed: 4.5 ISO: 200 Editing: Levels (I brightened up the highlights and darkened the low lights) Our assignment was to study different types of composition and then take pictures of these different elements throughout the school grounds. The eleven different types of composition that we studied are rule of thirds, symmetry, pattern, texture, depth of field, lines, framing, perspective, space, balance, and color. What I learned during this assignment was just how much thought goes into a well captured photo, all of the different types of composition, and that a photo can contain more than one element of composition at once. This project opened my eyes to how intricate a single photo can be. |
